Upcoming Events

March 28 - March 30, HELLO SPRING! Weekend Getaway Crop Retreat
Come scrapbook with your friends and make new ones! Doors will open Friday at noon for this weekend retreat. This is a perfect way to get away even if you don't have a group large enough to fill the whole house.
Participants who book together will share a room and will have workspaces seated together.
The price is $120 per person for double occupancy, $100 per person for triple occupancy, and $80 per person for a group of 4.
All participants receive a FREE 3rd night on a future weekend booking!
You will have a table reserved for you, seated with the person (or people) you register with.
There are two refrigerators, lots of cabinet space, and a full kitchen available for any additional snacks and meals you'd like to bring or make. Also, there are lots of dining options within 10 minutes of the house.

Our spacious main crafting space is outfitted with ten (10) worktables each with a rolling office chair and craft lamp for additional lighting.

The central TV means easy viewing of movies, TV show binges, or tutorials for the entire group!

Located on the main level near the kitchen and garage entryway, the Laundry area is available for use at any time!

Crafting Groups:
Check the calendar for availability. If your dates are available, submit a Booking Inquiry below or send an email to TheHappyPlaceHaven@gmail.com with the dates you would like to reserve. Within one business day, you will receive an email with the Rental Contract included.
The price to stay is $350 per night for up to 7 guests. For additional guests, the daily rate stays the same but there is an added cleaning fee of $50 per additional person, per stay. For example:
For 8 guests for 2 nights, your price will be $750
$700 ($350 x 2 nights) + $50 = $750
For 10 guests for 6 nights, it would be $2,250
$2,100 ($350 x 6 nights) + $150 ($50 x 3) = $2,250
Non-Crafting Groups:
The rental rate and booking process are the same as for a Crafting group - $350 per night plus $50 extra per guest over 7 per stay.
1) No loud parties (gatherings like family reunions and holiday gatherings are totally fine!)
2) Please no more than ten guests staying the night
3) no pets please.

Frequently Asked Questions
How do I make a Reservation?

Check the calendar for availability. If your dates are available, fill out the Booking Inquiry or send an email to TheHappyPlaceHaven@gmail.com with the dates you would like to reserve. Within one business day, you will receive an email with the Rental Contract included. Once the Contract is signed and the $200 deposit is received, the dates will be reserved for you, and you will receive notification of your reservation. At this point, the calendar will show your dates as Reserved.
How many people does Happy Place Haven accommodate?
HPH has three large bedrooms to accommodate up to ten (10) overnight guests.
What types of payment do you accept?
Payment can be made through the link on the website using Paypal, or through Venmo, Zelle, or by mailing a check, payable to Happy Place Haven at 4937 Union Road, Franklin, OH 45005.
When is my rental balance due?
Rental balance is due one month prior to your stay. Any mailed checks must be received by this day to hold your reservation.
What ameneties do you provide?
The number one goal of Happy Place Haven is to ensure that you have a comfortable and productive stay! To that end, we provide the following areas: - Main-floor: - Workspace area - Ten 5-foot tables, each with lighting, power, and an office chair. We also have three small portable tables for Cricut machines and other overflow items and a large fold-out cutting/craft table. Free high-speed Wi-fi access and a 55” smart-TV. - Fully stocked kitchen with table for six. - Appliances: glass-top range with double oven, microwave, full size refrigerator/freezer, dishwasher, disposal. There is also a second refrigerator/freezer in the garage. - Small Appliances: Air fryer, crock pot, blender, toaster, hand mixer, Keurig coffee maker with full pot brewing capability, and coffee grinder. - Housewares: fully stocked with all cookware, dishes, glassware, and utensils. We also stock aluminum foil, plastic wrap, storage bags, and have some basic spices, cooking spray, and some baking staples. - Three bedrooms, accommodating ten guests, each with a nightstand with personal lamp and power strip. We also have a recliner available for guests who prefer not to sleep on a flat mattress. - Two full bathrooms, stocked with shampoo, conditioner, body wash, towels, hair dryers, and paper products. Laundry alcove, with washer and dryer available for guest use. We also have two ironing boards, two irons, and a full-size steamer. - Lower level: - Secondary workspace on the lower level with six additional tables and folding chairs. - Lower-level entertainment area with large sectional, popcorn maker, and 65” smart TV, perfect for watching Hallmark Christmas movies all year long! - Additional full bathroom with shower - Private spa/massage room with adjustable massage table. If your group loves to get massages during your stay, please let us know, and we can put you in touch with our favorite therapist! Or you can arrange to have your own therapist visit. - Outdoors: - Large rear deck with furniture coming soon! - Paver Patio with fire pit - Spacious backyard with numerous large trees - Parking for ten vehicles - Garage which can accommodate a single vehicle. We will have an entry ramp installed in the Spring of 2025. - Location: - Convenient location. We’re located between Dayton and Cincinnati, in Franklin Township, just North of the Middletown exit, five minutes off of I-75.
What do you provide for a crafting retreat?
The main floor workspace area has ten 5-foot tables, each with lighting, power, trash can, and an office chair. There are also three adjustable-height, portable tables for Cricut machines and other overflow items. There is a large fold-out cutting/craft table. There is an overflow work area in the lower level that consists of six additional tables with folding chairs and a large, open floor area for projects that just need to be spread out. For scrapbookers and card makers, we have a supply closet with punches, paper, scissors, ribbons, and a ribbon curler. For quilters, in addition to the fold-out cutting table, we have two ironing boards, two Rowenta irons, and a Jiffy Garment Steamer.
Is there a minimum number of guests to reserve HPH?
There are no minimum guest requirements. The price to stay is $350 per night for up to 7 guests. I'm not a crafter, can I still rent the house?
Absolutely! Our main rules are 1) no loud parties (gatherings like family reunions and holiday gatherings are totally fine!), 2) please no more than ten guests staying the night and 3) no pets please. The rental rate is the same - $350 per night plus $50 extra per guest over 7 per stay (I know, it sounds kind of confusing, please see examples under the previous question).
What is your cancellation policy?
If your reservation is cancelled at least one month prior to your stay, you will receive a full refund of any payments made. If cancelled at least 2 weeks but less than a month in advance, your balance will be refunded but your deposit will be held (it can be applied to a new stay within one year). For cancellations within two weeks of your stay, your payment will not be refunded.
What time is check-in?
Our standard check-in time is 12 PM. However, as a fellow crafter, we understand that you want to get to your Happy Place as early as possible! To that end, we will do everything possible to make the property available by 9 AM on check-in day (assuming there is no other group checking out that day). We can discuss these details as your stay approaches.
Can we come early/stay late?
Two weeks prior to your stay, if Happy Place Haven is available on the day preceding or the day following your stay, you may reserve one or the other for $60 per person with no minimum guest number.
Can I bring my pet(s)?
As much as we love our furry friends, we cannot accommodate pets at Happy Place Haven.
What is near the area?
Happy Place Haven is conveniently located on Union Road between the Middletown exit (#32) and the Franklin exit (#36) on I-75. These are some of the places that are within a 10-minute drive. - Atrium Medical Center - Meijer - Michael’s - Kroger - Craft by the Pound (closed Sundays) - Walmart - Hobby Lobby (15 minutes) - Lowe’s - Berns Garden Center - Dollar General - Dollar Tree - 7 different pizza places - Numerous restaurants at the Middletown exit - Austin Landing is exit 41, just over 10 minutes away - Dayton Mall area is exit 44, just 15 minutes away
